January 2021: SSRI/SNRI antidepressant medicines: small increased risk of postpartum haemorrhage when used in the month before delivery

November 2020: Bupropion (Zyban): risk of serotonin syndrome with use with other serotonergic drugs

 January 2020: E-cigarette use or vaping: reporting suspected adverse reactions, including lung injury

  October 2009: Smoking and smoking cessation: clinically significant interactions with commonly used medicines

  November 2008: Varenicline: adverse psychiatric reactions, including depression

Smoking cessation interventions are a cost-effective way of reducing ill health and prolonging life. Smokers should be advised to stop and offered help if interested in doing so.

Where possible, smokers should have access to a smoking cessation clinic for behavioural support.
