Gonadotrophin-Releasing Hormones

DanazolĀ has androgenic activity with antioestrogenic and antiprogestogenic activity. The licensed preparation has now been discontinued in the UK. It had several licensed and unlicensed uses. Patients should not be newly initiated on danazol. Advice on the management of patients already prescribed danazol can be found here.

Gonadorelin analogues: goserelin and leuprorelin are used in the treatment of endometriosis, infertility treatment and before intrauterine surgery.

Goserelin recommended as the first line product for gynaecological indications.
